We normally associate the word Jezebel with the outward appearance of a woman: jewelry and/or make-up or the "Tammy Faye" or "Jan Crouch" look, etc. That certainly is not what this article is about. While appearance is certainly a valid Bible subject, we all tend to forget the deeper aspects of this idea when we focus on just the appearance. When the Bible uses the term Jezebel, it is dealing with much, much more than outward attire. Spiritual deception or spiritual apostasy is the ultimate meaning of the word Jezebel. When Ahab married Jezebel she brought with her into the king's palace the worship of false gods, and her reign was notorious for its destruction of the ten northern tribes of Israel.

The church world has had to face this influence from the beginning. When John was given the seven letters to the church dispensation in Revelation chapters two and three, the Lord Himself dealt with the many problems the church would encounter. Jezebel and the spirit this influence would bring were clearly described. Remember this book of the "Revelation of Jesus Christ" is His revelation given to Him by the Father and sent to His church by His angel. These words are breathtakingly important. Please notice the first verse of introduction to this book. "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John." (Revelation 1:1).

Now, let's read His warning abut the woman Jezebel, "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds." (Revelation 2:20-22).

It is evident that the Master is not dealing with a specific woman, but with a spirit or an influence through which the church would be attacked. He is dealing with a subtle force or change that would alter the masculine life of the church; the message would become without authority and the methods and the very lifestyle would become effeminate. The warning was dire and the judgment was heavy. Both Jezebel (those that promoted or tolerated this influence or spirit) and those under her sway would be cast into the Great Tribulation. This warning was given to a church at the very beginning of the church age, but lasting all the way to the time when an apostate church would be cast into the Great Tribulation after the Rapture.

We are witnessing Jezebel at her height of power. Never has this Jezebel spirit had such sway in the church world. Paul Crouch built for his Jezebel woman, Jan Crouch, her own cathedral in Nashville, TN. Her programs are always the worst of heresy and insanity, all in the name of a strange Jesus. Almost every big name minister in the Charismatic world gives his wife equal exposure and influence with himself. It's also a strange mixture of a very wimpy, effeminate man and a dominating Jezebel woman.

Cindy Jacobs & The Spirit of Jezebel
Cindy Jacobs leads a group of women and an organization named, God's "Generals of Intercession." She is an author of a very questionable book, entitled Possessing The Gates of The Enemy. She apparently travels all over the world and is sought much as a speaker at major Charismatic events. Her prophecies are similar to Rick Joyner and Francis Frangipane. Her influences appear to be growing dominant in religious circles.

My first knowledge of her name came to me from a missionary in Zimbabwe. Let me quote this dear man whose name I will not expose for his protection in that dark part of the world. His words were, "Zimbabwe is going through some tough times. Without we have lawlessness, a man of sin, murder intimidation, corruption, theft, rape, and the list of sin and wickedness goes on and on. There is only one hope and that is the Gospel of Christ Jesus. (Romans 1:16). But the church is so deceived. So much so that a prophecy given by Cindy Jacobs for Zimbabwe in 1998 has come back to light and the "Church" is holding onto this as if it is the Word of God. Even those once esteemed to be mighty men of God, holding to the truth are deceived; for example, the Vicar General, Rev. Cannon Tim Neill of St. Luke's Anglican Church in Greendale, Harare, are promoting this prophecy as God's Word to raise an army of 'Deborah Anointed' women to march across the land in prayer. I need help! Can anyone send me information on Cindy's life, false prophecies, etc that we can use to expose her and deal with this evil? We have believed that the President Robert Mugabe is the Lord's servant as Nebuchadnezzar was. God is sovereign and calling His church to holiness and to be separate to be a clear gospel voice to a desperate and wicked world in need. But, now we begin to see that this is judgment on the church, also. This is a hot wind. (Jeremiah 4:11). Are we to hide from this now or is this all the delusion of II Thessalonians 2:11-12? Surely, we should do our best to expose this lie that some might be saved. We can expect things to get much worse unless the church returns to the truth." (E-mail from Zimbabwe.)

Now, let me give you the exact words of Cindy Jacobs so you can understand his dilemma. "The river is going to flow through Zimbabwe and I see a powerful torrent of water, a mighty rushing torrent, many fish. I see that there are strongholds in the church of division and the accuser of the brethren is active to discourage souls. An army of women with the Deborah anointing will march across the land. They will be like a net all over Zimbabwe with prayer. With a powerful anointing, the women first and men following. I see ancient thrones coming down, reconciliation between black and white, the spirit of racism which goes back further down to the tribes. I will use Zimbabwe like a jewel; she will help feed the world with beautiful produce. God will break the curse that came through civil war . . . the curse will be broken. I know nothing about Zimbabwe. The land will produce beautiful beef. New factories will be built. Zimbabwe has the ministry of reconciliation that reunites the African people. The anointing of reconciliation will be all over Zimbabwe. Do not be afraid of the change. Although it looks like you are going backwards. I have a plan for you. Satan thinks he is advancing but I will expose wickedness at high levels. Do not be afraid. Satan will try to bring war; this army will be used to stop war and bloodshed. A treaty will be written with other nations. Zimbabwe will be used like Switzerland to bring the healing of nations to break ancient things. Your nation came through trickery, but God will restore it. You will be given a piece of land, a beautiful place to pray. You will build a place to watch and pray. It will be like a compound with a place to sleep. The Annas will give their lives for intercession. Senior citizens will have places to stay and give their time to pray day and night." When I get a letter or e-mail like this, my heart breaks. Here are good people full of love for truth serving God in a dark place that are having to deal with the churches being inundated with Charismatic insanity. It seems so unfair to me that the great Evangelical or Classical Pentecostal missionaries would have to deal with voodoo spirits from the pagan religions on one hand and Jezebel spirits (same as voodoo) from the church world on the other hand. Much of what I do is out of love for the unsung heroes among our pastors, missionaries, and lay leaders around the world. They are my champions and I believe they are the Lord's choice servants.

The prophecy given about Zimbabwe is an excellent example of the insane ideas coming from Cindy Jacobs' distorted mind. The world is headed toward Armageddon and its darkest hours of human history, and these "Dominion Theology" thinkers are prophesying lies instead of warning for men to turn to God in repentance. Instead of winning souls for the coming Christ, they are building armies for the coming Antichrist. This woman's prophecies are the most blatant expressions of Satan's dark lies preparing for his false Christ I have yet to read. Let's read now a message she spoke in a church in England. The name of the church on the web page was St. Andrews' Church, Chorleywood.

This prophecy is truly bizarre. "And the Lord would say I'm renewing ancient covenants. I'm calling together ancient kingdoms. I'm the ancient of days. I'm doing a new thing in Europe. I'm going to release from this conference and even in the coming days a new anointing for Europe. I'm calling back to ancient times when I stirred my people to take Jerusalem I'm calling out my warriors and my war horses forth." (Europe Awake! Prophecy, St. Andrews Church web site.)

Apparently, she is actually under demon possession and is foretelling Satan's design. This statement above coincides with Revelation chapter six when four horses come forth from the opening of the first four seals of the Seven Year Tribulation. She is recalling ancient times in speaking of the crusades when the Roman Catholic Church marched from Europe into the Middle East to take Jerusalem from the Arabs. Thousands of Arabs and Jews were slaughtered along the route and especially in the taking of the city. The Antichrist is destined to do this again in the middle of the seven years and will gather the armies of the world (no doubt from Europe as she is suggesting) to retake the city at the end of the seven years. That is when the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven as is seen in Revelation. "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." (Revelation 19:11-14).

She further stated, "I saw armies of God coming forth and I saw from Britain, they came forth and got on black horses. And I saw that they got on these huge war steeds and they began to head out across the 10/40 window in the middle east and I saw them come from Spain, France and they were on white steeds -magnificent white stallions and the Lord says, I'm bringing forth those from France and Spain and they're going to join the armies for I'm finding my remnant. I'm calling forth from all of Europe a remnant for I'm doing a new thing in this continent -greater than you can imagine!

"And I could see from nation after nation, Scotland, Ireland, I saw the Holy Spirit do a linking between Britain and Germany that was like a forged covenanted seal and the Lord says, I'm calling back ancient relationships and what I wanted to do back in years past but Satan perverted it, destroyed it through man's sinfulness.

"And I saw that they all wore white garments and I said, Lord what are these and who are these? And the Lord said, These are those whose garments are washed in the blood of the lamb. These are those who have been through the fire of my dealings and my purging and they are walking in a level of holiness where I won't allow even a single thought of wickedness to go through their mind without being cast down. I'm calling to a new level that my people have not known before, of holiness and righteousness for righteousness exalts a nation, says the Lord.

"I can hear the clatter of the horses hooves. Nations after nations came and entered into righteous covenants, holy covenants. And the Lord says, I am giving you a second chance. And I could see a chalice being passed back and forth. And I said, what is this? And He said, this is my covenant, for they are coming together with a blood covenant that can not be broken by human hands." (Europe Awake! Prophecy, St. Andrews Church web site.)
There can be no doubt that what she is seeing is of a demonic nature. Notice that she equals the white garments with the idea being promoted by the "Manifest Sons of God" doctrines. They teach that the Rapture is actually a rapturous state when men and women are glorified right here on earth. She explains this false heresy perfectly in paragraph three of the above quote. Her prophecy places her and those who are into these "Dominion Theology" deceptions on the wrong side of the coming end time battles.

Her closing words in this false prophecy suggest that the Muslims in Britain are going to be an integral part of the "End Time Revival" of which they are prophesying. "The Lord says, there are places in the Middle East that are getting ready to have an extreme famine. Prepare, says the Lord, for I'm going to send the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Go and give a cup of cold water in my name. And I could see the Lord establishing churches, mosques turning into churches; I see a great move of the Holy Spirit. The Lord says, look at the Muslims in Britain for I am getting ready to bring a Revival! Will you be part of the army of God, will you ride with me? For I'm renewing ancient covenants. And ancient pacts. And I am giving Europe a second chance! Says the Lord your God." (Europe Awake! Prophecy, St. Andrew's Church web site.)

It is amazing that great writers of the past have described the Muslim religion as one of the great tools of the Antichrist, while these "New Wave" prophets and prophetesses are saying exactly the opposite. It does not take much knowledge to understand the nature of the Muslim World and to recognize the falseness of these lying prophets prophesying a false Ecumenicalism instead of judgment.

Playing Games With Demons
Jacobs has apparently played too much "Dungeons and Dragons" in her lifetime. She is adept at pulling demonic connections right out of her imagination. Here is a strange idea of a spirit that she calls "Leviathan."

"So why is God so keen to deal with our pride? Because the spirit of Leviathan is actually rooted in it!

"There's a great war in the heavenlies right now, like a swirling going on, like a strong battle. It's over all of Europe but there is something that is trying to happen with England - to catch it as with a hook and pull it in a direction God doesn't want it to go.

"God wants to bring revival to the continent of Europe. Satan knows that. I prophesy that there have been principalities unleashed that have even been held somehow in abeyance until this end time for the continent of Europe. There is a power and I believe one of these is this Leviathan spirit, the reptile from the sea. It's a principality and one of the primary ways it enters is through pride." (Cindy Jacobs, Revival Now! website.)

This kind of games with demons is distractive and unbiblical. Pride is a problem with unsanctified flesh and the answer is found in the cleansing blood of Jesus not in casting out or defeating an imaginary demon. When a religious group spends their spiritual warfare dealing with demons instead of growing up in the Word and the faith of Jesus Christ within, they are bound to become instruments of the spirit world. The world of evil loves a false emphasis on the spirit world and the opening into these persons that this creates for deceiving powers. No wonder their prophecies tend to become more and more bizarre as they descend deeper into spiritualistic manifestations. The single Scripture she uses in this idea is found in Job. "Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?" (Job 41:1).

Cindy Jacobs & Her Strange Book
Satan is a master imitator. His design is to take a great Bible truth and reduce it to a slick scheme of promotion of one of his devious designs. Nothing in the church world is more breathtaking than genuine prayer or communion with the Creator Himself. Our Father sent His Son to redeem us to Himself and then to establish His Son as our Doorway into the Father's presence. Jesus Christ is our advocate and mercy seat at the Father's right hand. No promise in the Holy Book is withheld from the faithful petitioner who approaches the Father in Jesus' name. Cindy Jacobs has taken this Heavenly truth and reduced it to voodoo. Her book, Possessing The Gates Of The Enemy is classic voodooism. Let me prove that point. Chapter four of her book is entitled, "The Enforcers." Let me quote her.
"As intercessors we have an enormous responsibility. God will actually use us to enforce his will in what I call the earth realm." "The law of prayer is the highest law of the universe. It can overcome the other laws by sanctioning God's intervention." (Possessing The Gates Of The Enemy, Cindy Jacobs, p. 48.)

To speak of prayer in this light is to totally suggest a change in the nature of our God. This idea is "Dominion Theology." Rather than "Grace Theology." Yes, God acts in judgment to manifest His holiness in the earth, but never does He force His will in the spiritual realm. Each surrender to the sweet will of God manifested in Scripture is a human response to God's grace and mercy.

Satan is the enforcer. Pagan religionists, as well as modern Charismatics, see prayer as a method to war against opposing forces. Principalities, which they have often given spirit names, are their chief opponents. Persons who resist these voodoo practitioners are also targeted and come under great attack. Cindy says, ". . . Christ has given us back authority to reestablish dominion over the earth." (Possessing The Gates Of The Enemy, Cindy Jacobs, p. 53.)

She continues, "We are the enforcers of His will in the earth today as we use His name and pray His will through His word . . . It is critical that intercessors in America rise up and enforce God's will in our nation. The Church must go to the war room in prayer to stem the tide of sin and decay that has come upon our land. We need this desperately." (Possessing The Gates Of The Enemy, Cindy Jacobs, p. 56.) Notice, she calls the prayer closets "war rooms."

Biblical praying has absolutely no relationship to this twisted thinking. Prayers move our God to manifest great grace and His grace changes the world according to the perfect promises of Holy Scripture. To incorporate the idea of forcing the world into a religious pattern by voodoo activity is scary and calls back to the ancient days of Catholic holy wars and crusades to impose the will of the church.

Ecumenicalism as a Tool for Their "Army"
The Bible believing world has always viewed ecumenicalism as satanic to the core. Only a few years ago, the same publication now voicing the New Wave insanity was exposing the ecumenical minded liberals. Listen now as Cindy Jacobs expresses the classic "New World Religion."

"In prayer Cindy asked God why Satan is still so effective. She got 'strategy'. 'The enemy has a strategy for every nation and ministry...his army does not rest from the battle.' (32). God gave her 5 key points:

• No one ministry has all the revelation necessary to strategize over nations.
• It would take his Body coming together for the battle plans to be revealed.
• When the ministers came together and each contributed his or her piece of the strategy, God would reveal His plans to us all.
• The meetings would tear down barriers between ministries, and we would have a united front to wage war.
• Those asked to be generals would be those Christians on staff with major ministries as prayer coordinators. (33-4)." (Book Digest - Cindy Jacobs, as presented on Gateway Ministries' website.) (The numbers in parenthesis are page numbers.)

This ecumenicalism has now moved to a level that embraces all religions, not just those in the "Christian" camps. Paul Crouch said on television (May, 2000) that Robert Schuller had taught him "there is good in all religions." This was heard by Rev. Bert Clendenon and told to me personally. I do not know if Cindy Jacobs has accepted Paul Crouch's level of ecumenicalism, but if not, she will soon.

Where Will it All End?
The Bible is incredibly plain about these kinds of human inventions. As you read about the great prophets of Scripture, you will see that their greatest enemies were always the false prophets that prophesied lies. Isaiah dealt with these false prophets and called them "wizards" just like I'm calling Rick Joyner, Cindy Jacobs, and others. Listen! "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward. And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness." (Isaiah 8:19-22).

This passage is beautiful. Isaiah plainly stated, "If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Not one thing I have quoted in Cindy Jacobs' prophecies has relevance to Scripture. She "peeps" and "mutters" and the Charismatic world loves it because it sounds exhilarating to the flesh. It also fits the new theology of "taking possession of the political world and the wealth of the world." It will end in darkness. Many will be destroyed.

We often forget the multitudes that are destroyed by those false teachers and the great organizations they build. Listen as Isaiah warns of judgment on both leaders and false prophets and those who listen to them. "For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts. Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed." (Isaiah 9:13-16).

Those words break my heart, "They that are led of them are destroyed." The church world, leaders of our major denominations and many, many others that tolerate or promote this insanity are going to be destroyed in the process. That's God's Word, not mine. The above quote said that the Lord will cut off the ancient and the lying prophets. He then identifies the ancient as those who are the "head" or the "leaders." When I am criticized for speaking the truth, my only reaction is, "I have no other choice." To publish a prophecy publication and then refuse to identify the false would place me in line for God's judgment. In fear before God, you can watch for truth and nothing but truth to the best of my ability in our prophecy publication and on our radio broadcast, "Open Bible Dialogue."
